Elaine Warren, The Entrepreneur Navigator

Over the past 20 years, I have helped solo, home-based, full- and part-time entrepreneurs as well as small businesses, consultants and educational institutions achieve their goals.

I am an experienced evaluator of entrepreneurship potential and have inspired and coached teams to compete for and earn national and international awards for their business ideas, ethics, and community involvement. I have demonstrated the ability to:

  • Evaluate your entrepreneurial potential

  • Assess your needs

  • Assist you to launch or grow your business

  • Give and analyze many strength-based assessments to determine the best allocation of your time and energy to maximize return on investment (ROI)

  • Train you and your employees on marketing and planning topics

  • Organize educational conferences for your company or industry association

For four years, I was the marketing consultant/small business adviser for the Small Business Development Center in Tucson, Arizona. I handled a caseload of more than 50 clients at any one time and had a waiting list of three to six weeks for appointments.

I recently taught entrepreneurship for two years at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. One focus of the course was self-assessments to determine the strengths each student possessed to run their own businesses. Another focus was on creating and evaluating business plans.

I also was the faculty adviser for two UNL student organizations, Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE) and Collegiate Entrepreneurs’ Organization (CEO). Each year, I coordinated multiple business plan competitions (international, regional, and local), a regional multi-track conference on entrepreneurship, and a series of more than 30 seminars on management topics.

My other college-level teaching has been in the areas of graphic design, computer science, and newsletter and brochure writing. I have presented short presentations (one to six hours) on customer service, communication, effective print advertising, selecting the best promotional activities, public relations for the small business, proposal preparation, and entrepreneurship for high school seniors.

I also understand the “dark” side of entrepreneurship that can affect entrepreneurs – the loneliness, frustration, second-guessing, over-commitment, lack of family time, and more.
